Andrea G. Miller-Jones is a partner in the Newark office of Lewis Brisbois, and a member of the Healthcare practice group. Ms. Miller-Jones is a litigator and focuses her practice on medical and health care malpractice defense, on behalf of physicians, hospitals, nurses, skilled nursing facilities, and other medical providers.
Admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 1998, Ms. Miller-Jones has extensive experience defending high exposure medical liability cases involving a variety of medical specialties, including Anesthesiology, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Gastroenterology, Oncology, Cardiology, Surgery, Nursing, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Physiatry, Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Psychology, Podiatry, Neurology, Radiology, Urology, hospitals and surgery centers, highly regulated providers including skilled nursing facilities and post-acute rehabilitation centers, ambulance/medical transport, dentists, and numerous others. She has also represented various healthcare specialties in Board inquiries and investigations.
Ms. Miller-Jones has first-chair trial experience, has defended cases in both State and Federal courts, and has an extensive track record of favorable resolutions in these areas. She has lectured nationally and internationally on various subjects, including cross-examination of experts, increased risk of harm, reliability of scientific evidence, and defeating medical claims through use of epidemiology and statistics. Ms. Miller-Jones has also acted as court-appointed counsel in connection with numerous guardianship matters.
