Mark Oertel Appointed Vice-Chair of ABA/TIPS Fidelity and Surety Law Committee

Los Angeles, Calif. (June 27, 2023) – Los Angeles Partner Mark A. Oertel was recently appointed as a Vice-Chair of the American Bar Association Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section (ABA/TIPS) Fidelity and Surety Law General Committee for the 2023-24 bar year.

Mr. Oertel is an active member of the ABA/TIPS, and has held numerous leadership positions within this ABA section. This appointment is a reflection of Mr. Oertel’s ongoing commitment to the ABA/TIPS. His appointment will take effect on the last day of the 2023 ABA annual meeting and continue through to the last day of the 2024 annual meeting.

Mr. Oertel is chair of Lewis Brisbois' Surety and Fidelity Practices, and has more than 35 years of experience in the areas of surety, fidelity, insurance law, professional liability, construction, and commercial disputes. He handles contract surety disputes involving all phases of payment and performance bond claims, litigation and recovery, fidelity bond claims and employee dishonesty claims.
