Joseph Gallo Speaks With Law360 On Move to Lewis Brisbois, Plans for the Future

Newark, N.J. (July 25, 2023) – Newark Partner Joseph A. Gallo recently spoke with Law360 for an article regarding his move to Lewis Brisbois as well as his plans for growing his practice and mentoring junior attorneys.  

As the article describes, Mr. Gallo recently joined the firm’s Newark, New Jersey office as a partner in the General Liability Practice. In discussing his decision to join Lewis Brisbois, Mr. Gallo told Law360, "Over the years I've worked with many lawyers at Lewis Brisbois as co-counsel . . . and was always impressed by their skill and their competence." He further explained that Lewis Brisbois presented an opportunity for him to expand his practice into a national one, noting, "I pretty much thought, 'Hey, it makes a lot of sense to join them.'" 

Moreover, Mr. Gallo described that throughout his career, he has defended clients in civil litigation in "virtually all areas." He also told Law360 that with the backing of a larger firm, he intends to expand his volume of business, explaining, "I believe that good work begets more work. . . . The business is obviously expanding in all the areas that I practice in, so I see that as an opportunity for me to make a contribution to continue that expansion, and as a certified civil trial attorney, the opportunity to try cases and give the New Jersey office a deeper trial bench." 

Mr. Gallo also described his plan to mentor more junior attorneys to ensure that Lewis Brisbois maintains a pipeline of strong trial lawyers. “It's not just enough to have seasoned trial attorneys. . . . You need to create an opportunity for junior lawyers to grow and develop professionally and also become trial attorneys."
