Wazir Hossain is an associate in the Atlanta office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Environment, Land, & Natural Resources Law, Complex Business & Commercial Litigation, and General Liability Practices.
Within the environmental litigation space, Mr. Hossain has extensive experience representing clients – including at trial – in regulatory actions involving various federal laws, including the Federal Clean Water Act (CWA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA). He also defends clients against state law contamination claims and has managed a class action lawsuit involving toxic spills and the spread of toxic substances. Mr. Hossain handles environmental litigation matters from their inception through trial and appeal, consistently securing favorable results for firm clients.
Mr. Hossain also regularly represents clients in commercial litigation matters involving contractual, shareholder, lessor-lessee, and franchisor-franchisee disputes. In addition, he handles actions related to property boundaries between landowners, the sale of goods among international organizations, and condemnation cases. Mr. Hossain manages all stages of commercial litigation actions on behalf of clients, from discovery and depositions to settlement negotiations and the preparation of settlement agreements.
Transactional matters comprise a portion of Mr. Hossain’s practice as well. He is well-versed in handling state remediation projects involving contaminated property and has experience drafting remediation agreements as well as preparing reports related to the purchase and sale of property.
Prior to joining Lewis Brisbois, Mr. Hossain served as an intern with the Atlanta Regional Office of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). In his role with the Enforcement Division of the office, he drafted materials related to insider trading investigations, Investment Advisers Act cases, and Investment Company Act cases. He also worked with the SEC’s New York and D.C. Regional Offices on cryptocurrency insider trading issues.
Outside of his practice, Mr. Hossain enjoys golf, soccer, and international travel.
