Graham M. Cridland is a partner in the Sacramento office of Lewis Brisbois and is a member of the General Liability and Labor & Employment practice groups.

Mr. Cridland has been a litigator for 20 years and has tried cases in the state courts of the State of California as well as in United States District Court.  His practice includes catastrophic injury, public entity defense, discrimination and harassment, professional negligence, Private Attorneys General Act, and wage and hour claims.  Mr. Cridland has also represented employers before numerous federal and state agencies including the U.S. National Labor Relations Board, California Labor Commissioner, California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (“DFEH”) and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (“EEOC”).  Mr. Cridland regularly works behind the scenes as monitoring counsel for excess and reinsurance providers in cases with high exposure or complex captive, excess, and pooling arrangements.

Representative matters include obtaining a defense verdict in a serious injury case for a construction firm which was alleged to have been negligent in not following the plans in construction of their work and obtaining judgment as a matter of law after a preliminary court trial in a professional negligence matter in which the court’s Order granting judgment quoted directly from cross-examination by Mr. Cridland of the plaintiff’s expert witness.

Mr. Cridland has also represented clients in commercial litigation, landlord/tenant, professional liability (real estate broker/agent, home inspection, property appraisal including ranchland property, attorneys, doctors, dentists, and insurance brokers), products liability, and in defense of civil claims of sexual molestation and assault.  Mr. Cridland has lectured on a variety of legal topics focused on civil trial practice.

Mr. Cridland lives in Davis, California with his wife, Julie, his children Morgan and Trent, and their three cats Esmeralda, Gilgamesh, and Higgs.  His hobbies include chess, woodworking, and golf.
