Marilou R. Bustonera is the co-administrative partner in the Walnut Creek office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the General Liability and Transportation practices.  

Ms. Bustonera started her career as a litigator and trial attorney in 1999.  With a distinguished legal career spanning over two decades, Ms. Bustonera stands at the forefront of civil litigation in Northern California. Prior to joining Lewis Brisbois, Ms. Bustonera led a team in representing victims of sexual abuse against formidable institutions ensuring that justice is not just a concept, but a reality for those she represents. Ms. Bustonera possesses a comprehensive defense background, advocating for clients across California in high-exposure general liability, construction defect, and toxic tort cases. Her track record includes a multitude of jury trials and binding arbitrations, where she has consistently secured verdicts advantageous to her clients.

A proud member of the State Bar of California since 1999, Ms. Bustonera is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Eastern Districts of California, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit. Ms. Bustonera earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Davis in 1995, and her Juris Doctorate from Golden Gate University School of Law in 1998.  

Ms. Bustonera is an active member of the Filipino Bar Association of Northern California, the Contra Costa County Bar Association, the Asian American Bar Association and Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California (ADC). 

Beyond the courtroom, Ms. Bustonera enjoys traveling with her spouse, and values quality moments with her family and friends. An avid fitness buff, she enjoys hiking, cycling on her Peloton and practicing yoga.
