Orange County, Calif. (June 26, 2024) – New York Partner Jeffrey Gaylord, Las Vegas and Reno Managing Partner Josh Cole Aicklen, and Los Angeles Partner Jasmine Shams will present a webinar titled “Social Media & Claims Investigation,” on July 18, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. PT.
During this informative 60-minute CLE session, our speakers will discuss the laws that are either in effect or are in the process of being passed that govern social media and how it is used. They will also talk about the potential legal implications for using social media during claims investigations and the many insurance policies that may be involved. In addition, they will examine social media's role in legal proceedings and offer suggestions for discovery and trial tactics. Moderated by Orange County Partner Esther Holm, this session will be beneficial and informative for all insurance professionals since social media affects almost all insurance coverages, from cyber to D&O to EPL.
Mr. Aicklen serves as co-chair of Lewis Brisbois’ national Hospitality Practice. An ABOTA trial lawyer, he has over 30 years of experience litigating cases in state and federal courts in Nevada and California. Mr. Aicklen practices in the areas of hospitality litigation and works with local and national hospitality clients in all aspects of claims of premises liability, food service and against grocery and retail stores. He also prosecutes business litigation matters. His other practice areas include general liability litigation defense in wrongful death, automobile, trucking and motorcycle cases; premises liability/negligent security claims against landowners; products liability; and the investigation and litigation of fraudulent claims. Mr. Aicklen also has extensive experience in the defense of professional liability claims against real estate professionals, psychologists, stock brokers and insurance agents and brokers.
Ms. Shams is a member of the Labor & Employment and Korean Business & Litigation Practices. She advises businesses on a wide range of labor and employment issues, including general practices, termination and disciplinary decisions, wage and hour issues, and compliance with Title VII, FEHA, the FMLA, the FLSA, OSHA, the NLRA, the ALRA, and other federal, state, and local labor and employment laws.
Mr. Gaylord is a co-chair of the Directors & Officers Coverage Practice. He has over 30 years of experience counseling leading insurance companies, as well as corporations and their directors and officers, with respect to directors and officers liability in connection with securities class actions and derivative actions, financial institutions liability, professional liability, including lawyers and accountants, business interruption and general liability.
Ms. Holm is co-chair of the Professional Liability Practice, and vice-chair of the Product Liability Practice. Her specialty is Trial Practice in Professional, General, Employment, Transportation and Product Liability matters.
