Monica Kalunian Serves as Contributing Author for CEB’s Calif. Uninsured Motorist Practice Guide

Los Angeles, Calif. (August 29, 2024) - Los Angeles Partner Monica M. Kalunian recently served as a contributing author for updates to the 2024 edition of the Continuing Education of the Bar’s (CEB) California Uninsured Motorist Practice Guide.
Ms. Kalunian, a member of Lewis Brisbois’ Insurance Coverage Practice, was one of several contributing authors who handled updates to the guide, which publishes annually. The tome covers a range of critical topics in the uninsured motorist (UIM) space in California, including the contents of the Uninsured Motorist Act; preparing a claimant’s case; defending uninsured motorist cases; discovery; settlement; and the steps of the arbitration process.
Ms. Kalunian represents insurance companies in contribution, reimbursement, declaratory relief, and bad faith actions, including cases arising out of complex insurance coverage issues in the areas of commercial general liability, auto liability, errors and omissions liability, and excess and umbrella coverage. She also has experience in providing coverage advice and monitoring of underlying actions for complex claims, including construction defect claims involving numerous parties, carriers, and policies.
