Michael Vespa is an associate in the Newark office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Healthcare and Medical Malpractice Practices.

Mr. Vespa is an experienced litigator whose practice focuses on defending long-term care facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, other health care facilities, and individual medical providers in professional negligence actions. As a natural part of Mr. Vespa’s practice he is well informed and experienced with complex legal issues concerning the New Jersey Nursing Home Act N.J.S.A. 30:13-1 et seq., the Patient Safety Act  N.J.S.A. 26:2H-12.23-12.25, and other state and federal regulations for medical facilities. During his career, Mr. Vespa has served clients in a vast array of legal landscapes, including personal/catastrophic injury, wrongful death, premises liability, medical malpractice, and other parts of the legal world.

Mr. Vespa has extensive experience in all stages of litigation from pre-suit investigations through trial and when necessary, appellate practice. He has also obtained many favorable settlements through mediation and has successfully prevailed on a number of dispositive motions. Prior to joining Lewis Brisbois Mr. Vespa clerked for the Honorable Stephan C. Hanbury, J.S.C. (Ret.) and the Honorable Louis S. Sceusi, J.S.C. (Ret.) in Morris County Superior Court.

In his free time Mr. Vespa enjoys spending time reading books, going to the gym, spending time with friends and family, and volunteering in his local community in Hoboken, New Jersey. Mr. Vespa is also a member of the Hudson County Bar Association’s Young Lawyer’s Division.
