Anna Mandula Nominated for Upcoming Indiana Court of Appeals Vacancy
The Indiana Judicial Nominating Commission has selected Northwest Indiana Partner Anna Mandula as one of the three nominees for an upcoming vacancy on the Court of Appeals of Indiana.
Ms. Mandula was selected along with Judge Stephen E. Scheele of Lake County Superior Court and Judge Stephanie E. Steele of St. Joseph County Superior Court. Chief Justice Loretta H. Rush of the Indiana Supreme Court, on behalf of the commission, will submit a report to Gov. Eric Holcomb in the coming days. Once he officially receives the list of nominees, Gov. Holcomb has 60 days to make his selection.
Highland, Ind. (October 23, 2024) - The Indiana Judicial Nominating Commission has selected Northwest Indiana Partner Anna Mandula as one of the three nominees for an upcoming vacancy on the Court of Appeals of Indiana.
Ms. Mandula was selected along with Judge Stephen E. Scheele of Lake County Superior Court and Judge Stephanie E. Steele of St. Joseph County Superior Court. Chief Justice Loretta H. Rush of the Indiana Supreme Court, on behalf of the commission, will submit a report to Gov. Eric Holcomb in the coming days. Once he officially receives the list of nominees, Gov. Holcomb has 60 days to make his selection.
The commission voted to send Ms. Mandula and the two other nominees to the governor after interviewing seven applicants on Oct. 22. The commission considered the applicants' legal education, writings, reputation in the practice of law, and other pertinent information.
Ms. Mandula is a member of the Professional Liability, Complex Business & Commercial Litigation, and General Liability Practices. She is experienced in defending personal injury claims, including defending health care providers in medical malpractice matters. She has successfully tried cases as second chair and taken cases up on appeal to the Indiana Court of Appeals and Indiana Supreme Court.
Ms. Mandula also has experience in financial services litigation, representing national association banks in creditor rights matters, including secured and unsecured business loan enforcement litigation, post judgment execution and related remedies. Her expansive practice further includes having consulted major Northwest Indiana hospitals and healthcare facilities on corporate and risk management matters; she continues to assist businesses in developing client-focused strategies to maximize client goals and outcomes; and representing clients in Family and Juvenile Law, Adoptions, Estate Planning and Probate, and Guardianships.
