Gregg Clifton to Present on Unionization & Collective Bargaining in Sports at ABA Conference

Phoenix Partner and Chair of Lewis Brisbois' Collegiate & Professional Sports Law Practice Gregg E. Clifton will present a seminar on unionization and collective bargaining in sports, hosted by the American Bar Association (ABA) at Resorts World Las Vegas on November 16 at 9:00 a.m. PT.

Phoenix, Ariz. (November 13, 2024) – Phoenix Partner and Chair of Lewis Brisbois' Collegiate & Professional Sports Law Practice Gregg E. Clifton will present a seminar on unionization and collective bargaining in sports, hosted by the American Bar Association (ABA) at Resorts World Las Vegas on November 16 at 9:00 a.m. PT.

This 60-minute presentation, titled “Collective Action: Unionization and Collective Bargaining in Sports that Traditionally Have Not Had Unions,” will explore the growing momentum for unionization in amateur and international sports. Mr. Clifton will be joined by co-panelists Dan Lust of Morrit Hock & Hamroff LLP, Ena Patel of Vanderbilt Athletics, and Jason Stahl of College Football Players Association to give practical insights into the unionization process and strategies to safeguard athlete rights amid this shifting landscape.

Mr. Clifton is the chair of Lewis Brisbois' Collegiate & Professional Sports Law Practice, vice chair of the Traditional Labor Law Practice, and a member of the firm's Entertainment, Media & Sports and Labor & Employment Practices. He has extensive experience in the collegiate and professional sports world and has advised numerous professional franchises on a range of labor and employment issues, including Title III ADA regulatory compliance and wage and hour issues.
