Philadelphia, Pa. (December 9, 2024) - Philadelphia Partner Jason Berger recently spoke with The Source for an article on maintaining a successful entertainment law practice.
The article, titled "3 Tips For ‘Staying Ahead of the Game’ With Entertainment Lawyer Jason Berger," opens by observing that Mr. Berger is “a seasoned player in the legal space” of the entertainment and media industries who “can speak with insight and experience.” The article goes on to detail three tips that Jason believes have contributed to his success.
First, Mr. Berger told The Source that treating clients as family is paramount, noting that “‘getting involved in all aspects of a creative’s career is what I feel makes us special and sets us apart ... The atmosphere of trust and open communication makes a big difference when working together.’”
Second, Mr. Berger explained that lawyers should invest in others’ careers. He described, “I find that everything you put out . . . comes back around threefold. I started doing it because I am just naturally that type of person and it’s how I like to do business, but then I realized the results are astronomical so I have become more intentional with it over the last five years. There are people 15 or 20 years younger than me who now are helping me because I helped them years ago.”
Third, he stated that going above and beyond for clients has helped him create a successful practice. He elaborated, “I am always accessible to our clients, which goes a long way. . . . Things like treating people how you would want to be treated and returning phone calls even if you don’t have good news or an immediate answer are easy acts to create a level of professionalism.”
Mr. Berger is a member of Lewis Brisbois' Entertainment, Media & Sports Practice. His practice focuses on securing and negotiating agreements in the music, television/film, digital media, technology, art, and fashion industries. Jason’s client base covers the entertainment, media, and technology industries and includes established and developing artists, songwriters, producers, bands, independent record labels, digital distribution companies, content creation and management companies, music publishing companies, apparel companies, management companies, executives, influencers, actors, models, and multimedia fashion and lifestyle companies.
