Lewis Brisbois Welcomes Experienced Litigator and Trial Attorney to New York Office

Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome Allyson Avila to its New York office as a partner in the firm’s General Liability Practice. With over 20 years of litigation and trial experience, Ms. Avila joins Lewis Brisbois from Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani, LLP where she served as the assistant managing partner of the firm’s Westchester, New York office. Prior to practicing with Gordon Rees, she was a partner at Wilson Elser.

New York, N.Y. (December 19, 2024) - Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome Allyson Avila to its New York office as a partner in the firm’s General Liability Practice. With over 20 years of litigation and trial experience, Ms. Avila joins Lewis Brisbois from Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani, LLP where she served as the assistant managing partner of the firm’s Westchester, New York office. Prior to practicing with Gordon Rees, she was a partner at Wilson Elser.

Ms. Avila maintains a diverse practice in which she counsels and defends private, institutional, and municipal clients in medical malpractice and nursing home litigation, as well as employment, premises liability, toxic torts, and contract matters. An accomplished trial attorney, she has secured more than a dozen defense verdicts in New York courts. Notably, Ms. Avila is one of a small number of attorneys in the country who has significant knowledge of the aesthetic industry, including issues involving medical spa formation, licensing, and compliance with state and federal laws. She consistently achieves positive business results for clients in this area and frequently lectures at global aesthetic conferences. She also has published several articles for MedEsthetics Magazine.

Ms. Avila earned her law degree from Pace University’s Elisabeth Haub School of Law, a master’s degree from the City College of New York, and her undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from St. Thomas Aquinas College. She is admitted to practice in state and federal court in New York.
