Tom Cortazzo Named Managing Partner of Lewis Brisbois’ New Orleans Office

Lewis Brisbois is pleased to announce that Thomas (“Tom”) J. Cortazzo has been named managing partner of the firm’s New Orleans office. A native of New Orleans, Mr. Cortazzo is a member of the Complex Business & Commercial Litigation Practice. For more than 35 years, he has helped clients succeed in state, federal, and appellate courts throughout Louisiana in matters involving commercial disputes, toxic tort and asbestos issues, as well as personal injury and insurance defense. In addition, Mr. Cortazzo assists clients in resolving matters through arbitration and mediation. He is also an American Arbitration Association-certified mediator.

A native of New Orleans, Mr. Cortazzo is a member of the Complex Business & Commercial Litigation Practice. For more than 35 years, he has helped clients succeed in state, federal, and appellate courts throughout Louisiana in matters involving commercial disputes, toxic tort and asbestos issues, as well as personal injury and insurance defense. In addition, Mr. Cortazzo assists clients in resolving matters through arbitration and mediation. He is also an American Arbitration Association-certified mediator.

Outside of his practice, Mr. Cortazzo is a thought leader, regularly authoring articles for legal publications and speaking on a variety of topics to business groups, legal associations, and schools. He has been ranked in Best Lawyers in America (Commercial Litigation), New Orleans Magazine (“Top Lawyer of New Orleans” for Alternative Dispute Resolution, Commercial Litigation, Construction Law, Insurance Law, and Gaming Law), and Super Lawyers (Business Litigation). Mr. Cortazzo also remains active in his local community, having served, for example, on the Loyola University School of Law Alumni Association Board and as president, on the Westbank Business and Industry Association Board and as president, and on the Athlos Academy of Jefferson Parish School Board. In his free time, Mr. Cortazzo studies and presents on topics related to Italy and Italian Renaissance art.
