Rob Yellen is a partner in the New York office of Lewis Brisbois, a founding co-chair of the firm’s Insurance Underwriting Advisory Services Practice, and a vice chair of the Directors & Officers Coverage Practice. Rob advises clients on insurance products, wording, risk, underwriting controls, product compliance, and claims. 

Rob brings 35 years of broad insurance industry experience and proven strategic and legal skill to clients. For products and drafting, he is known for developing best-in-class insurance products, drafting simple and effective wording, and delivering more protection to insureds and insurers through improved contract certainty. He also advises on coverage and complex claims resolution. 

Rob’s experience and deep knowledge extend broadly to contexts that require proficiency in restructuring and bankruptcy, public offering of securities and securities class actions, derivative claims, mergers and acquisitions, non-profit management liability, employment practices, professional and technology liability, cyber security and privacy, oil and gas, financial institutions, government entities, healthcare, insurance companies, transportation, infrastructure, construction, real estate, and more. 

Clients value Rob’s diverse perspectives as an insurance broker, as an insurance company insider, and as outside counsel. Prior to joining Lewis Brisbois, Rob worked for the global insurance broking leader, WTW (f/k/a Willis and Willis Towers Watson), for a decade as a producer and technical thought and product leader. Before that, Rob also held underwriting executive and legal leadership roles with insurance leader AIG. Before AIG, Rob practiced with a respected insurance coverage and defense firm representing insurers in Financial Lines claims and coverage, securities class actions, bad faith, and other complex commercial litigation.
