Emily L. Rutter is an associate in the Salt Lake City office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the General Liability practice group. As a law clerk, she successfully obtained summary dismissal for the employer in a wrongful termination and discrimination claim in Ohio state court. She also has experience with employment-based immigrant and non-immigrant visa applications. 

Emily's background includes extensive experience supporting all aspects of complex commercial and general civil litigation matters, trial preparations and support, as well as participation in mediations, and arbitrations. She assisted with and managed crisis investigations teams for mass tort litigation. During law school, Emily interned with the Honorable Magistrate Judge Caroline H. Gentry of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.  She was a member of UDSL’s National Mock Trial team. She also served as the inaugural president of the Dayton Bar Association's Student Division (2023-2024) and was the Student Ambassador and Member of the Carl D. Kessler Inn of Court (2022-2025).
