Marcela Gyires Selected as Chair of Florida Bar’s Seventeenth Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee

Fort Lauderdale Partner Marcela Gyires was recently selected as Chair of The Florida Bar’s Seventeenth Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee “F” for the 2024-2027 term. 

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (July 22, 2025) – Fort Lauderdale Partner Marcela Gyires was recently selected as Chair of The Florida Bar’s Seventeenth Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee “F” for the 2024-2027 term. 

Ms. Gyires is board certified in Immigration and Nationality Law by The Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and Education, and in her new role, will investigate complaints against attorneys that are referred by Bar discipline counsel. The committee operates similarly to a grand jury, determining whether there is probable cause to believe a lawyer violated professional conduct rules.

Ms. Gyires is a member of the Immigration Practice. For a decade prior to joining Lewis Brisbois, she focused her practice on all aspects of immigration law at a boutique full service Immigration Law firm in South Florida. She provides a wide range of legal services for employers seeking to employ foreign nationals on both a temporary and permanent basis and for those seeking guidance on I-9 compliance and related anti-discrimination provisions.
