Jim Hailey to Speak on Travel and Catastrophe Fraud at IASIU Annual Conference

New Orleans Partner James W. Hailey III will join two panels on travel and catastrophe fraud, respectively, at the International Association of Special Investigation Units' (IASIU) Annual Conference, hosted in Denver on August 26.

New Orleans, La. (July 25, 2025) - New Orleans Partner James W. Hailey III will join two panels on travel and catastrophe fraud, respectively, at the International Association of Special Investigation Units' (IASIU) Annual Conference, hosted in Denver on August 26.

In the 110-minute session titled "Travel Fraud," Mr. Hailey and his co-panelist Larry Henning (Allied Universal Compliance and Investigations) will offer an in-depth look at handling claims involving travel fraud. In the 50-minute session titled “Catastrophe Fraud: Handling Claims from Wildfires and Hurricanes and Investigating Fraud When It Looks Everything Is Destroyed,” Mr. Hailey and co-panelist Gene Weisberg (Gladstone Weisberg) will explore how to identify and investigate potential fraud in catastrophe claims — such as wildfires, hurricanes, and earthquakes — by examining common schemes, addressing sensitive conversations with policyholders, and managing the logistical challenges of widespread disaster-related claims.

Mr. Hailey is a member of Lewis Brisbois’ Insurance Coverage Practice. He focuses on assisting insurance and corporate clients in detecting, deterring, and defeating fraud in construction, premises, transportation, and general litigation matters, including coverage. He is also an active member of the Louisiana Bar and sits on the state's Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee.
