Robert Eaton is an attorney in the North Charleston office, where his practice focuses on civil litigation with an emphasis on transportation, trucking, premises liability, personal injury defense, and insurance coverage matters. He represents national motor carriers, Fortune 500 companies, insurers, third-party administrators, and regional businesses in both state and federal court throughout South Carolina.
Robert maintains an active litigation docket that includes high-exposure catastrophic injury cases, wrongful death claims, dram shop liability, and complex premises liability actions. He is experienced in all stages of litigation, from rapid-response incident investigation and pre-suit evaluation through discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, and trial preparation. He regularly partners with corporate clients and carriers to develop efficient strategies, manage risk, and position cases for favorable resolution.
Before joining Lewis Brisbois, Robert practiced with a boutique firm, handling a broad range of civil matters. His background includes defending accountants, healthcare providers, and attorneys in malpractice actions, advising real estate professionals and closing attorneys in transactional disputes, and counseling businesses on employment matters. He has authored more than 50 position statements to the Office of Disciplinary Counsel, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and other regulatory bodies. This diverse experience allows Robert to analyze claims from multiple perspectives and deliver practical, business-focused solutions.

A native South Carolinian and sixth-generation Charlestonian, he has deep ties to the local community. Robert lives on James Island with his wife, daughter, and two golden retrievers.
