Jay Lake is a partner in the Los Angeles office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the General Liability, Transportation, and Hospitality Practices. 

Mr. Lake has over 30 years of experience in civil litigation. Mr. Lake's practice entails a range of legal matters for clients including public transportation, trucking companies, restaurants, nightclubs, and hotels. He handles cases concerning premises liability, security claims, assault and battery, construction site accidents, and catastrophic injuries. 

Mr. Lake is an experienced trial attorney and arbitrator and has tried matters involving toxic tort, general liability, medical negligence, premises liability, school negligence, breach of contract, asbestos litigation, and wrongful termination/discrimination.

Mr. Lake has also represented Homeowners Associations in cases involving mold exposure, including through trial, in areas involving general liability and premises liability.

Jay has a strong background in community involvement, having previously coached youth football and serving on the boards of two nonprofit organizations. Team HEAL Foundation is a school-based program supporting student-athletes in underserved communities and empowering the participates to pursue sports safely that also provides academic classes regarding sports medicine. As a board member of the Biddy Mason Charitable Foundation, he advocates for current and former foster youth. Beyond his professional and volunteer commitments, he enjoys live entertainment and traveling, particularly the opportunity to meet new people and immerse himself in cultures different from his own.
