Jonathan A. Bartlett is an associate in the New York office of Lewis Brisbois. He is experienced in construction accident, premises liability, property damage, subrogation, and motor vehicle accident litigation.
Jonathan focuses his practice on the representation of municipalities, public benefit corporations, owners, developers, construction managers, general contractors, and their agents, in matters involving high-exposure construction accident claims brought under New York Labor Law. Jonathan additionally defends property owners, property managers, and commercial tenants, in a wide range of premises liability matters.
Throughout his legal career, Jonathan has engaged in extensive motion practice, with experience in the trial courts and at the appellate level. His meticulously drafted submissions and oral arguments have resulted in numerous favorable decisions for his clients. Jonathan additionally has significant experience working with both liability and damages experts, in furtherance of bolstering arguments advanced in dispositive motions and at mediation.
Outside of legal practice, Jonathan is an avid outdoorsman and hiker/climber. His resume includes successful summits of the two highest mountains in Ecuador, Chimborazo (20,702 ft) and Cotopaxi (19,347 ft), as well as Mt. Rainier (WA, 14,411 ft); Mt. Baker (WA, 10,786 ft); Capitol Peak (CO, 14,131 ft); Mt. Whitney (CA, 14,505 ft); a winter ascent of Mt. Katahdin (ME, 5,267 ft); and multiple winter ascents of Mt. Washington (NH, 6,288 ft). Jonathan’s current project is successfully summiting all 58 of Colorado’s “fourteeners,” i.e., mountains 14,000 ft or higher in elevation.
