Matt Begley is a Partner in the Houston office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the firm’s General Liability and Transportation Practices. He also serves as Vice Chair of the firm’s nationally recognized Child Victims Act/Human Trafficking & Assault (CVA/HTA) Practice, where he plays a key role in developing defense strategies for clients facing complex and sensitive litigation.

Mr. Begley represents a diverse range of clients in high-stakes litigation involving catastrophic personal injury, transportation and trucking accidents, premises liability, transportation network companies (TNCs), dram shop liability, products liability, construction defects, and commercial disputes. His practice spans both state and federal courts across Texas and multidistrict litigation, where he is known for his strategic thinking, meticulous preparation, and effective advocacy.

He has successfully defended multi-family property managers and owners, hotel franchisors and franchisees, and other clients in third party crime, sex trafficking and assault litigation throughout Texas. His work in this area has positioned him as a trusted advisor to clients navigating emerging legal risks and reputational challenges.

He is also experienced in handling insurance agent errors and omissions (E&O) claims and oil and gas litigation. Mr. Begley is recognized for his ability to manage complex litigation from pre-suit investigation through trial, and for his commitment to delivering practical, results-driven counsel tailored to each clients’ needs.
