John R. Conley

John Conley is a partner in the Akron and Cleveland offices of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Complex Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group. John spends much of his professional time acting as outside National Coordinating Counsel for one of the largest residential mortgage lenders in the nation. In this role, John is confronted with varied issues in a wide range of practice areas and is relied upon to assess the issues, organize and lead the collection and evaluation of relevant information, advise on and establish resolution strategy, identify and manage local counsel, and effectuate the strategies through to resolution. John has substantial experience resolving disputes resultant from purported restrictive covenant violations, theft of trade secret and/or proprietary information, disputes arising from all manner of liens and other clouds on title, eminent domain disputes, adverse possession disputes, partition, foreclosure, and other forced sale disputes, etc. John is a great problem solver with the proven ability to utilize Lewis Brisbois' nationwide infrastructure to the substantial benefit of his clients with national issues and objectives. 

While John is always focused on identifying the most efficient, effective path to favorable resolution, he is also a seasoned trial attorney who excels in the compelling presentation of evidence and argument and is a member of Lewis Brisbois' National Trial Practice Group. While in law school, John was a member of the University of Akron's nationally recognized mock trial team and was named best Advocate and Champion of the 2007 National Civil Trial Competition (a prestigious mock trial competition in which the 16 best mock trial programs in the nation are invited to compete). In the years since, John received training from (and tried numerous cases alongside) several successful trial attorneys. During that same period, John has dedicated substantial time and resources training and supporting the next generation of trial attorneys by coaching and advising Akron's Trial Team. Coming full circle, John's team was named the Champion of the 2023 National Civil Trial Competition!

John is also an experienced leader of numerous teams charged with completing challenging and important e-discovery initiatives. John is an expert user of most e-discovery and review platforms, and is relied upon by numerous clients and attorneys to plan and effectuate cost efficient and effective document/data collection, review, and production initiatives.
