Cameron E. Grant

Managing Partner - Kansas City, MO

Cameron Grant is the Managing Partner of the Kansas City office of Lewis Brisbois. Mr. Grant has extensive experience in state and federal courts and arbitral forums, having successfully taken numerous cases to trial or final arbitration hearings, and having successfully briefed and argued motions and appeals in the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the 2nd, 5th and 8th Circuits, and state courts.

Mr. Grant's practice spans multiple subject matter areas including employment matters, construction disputes, complex commercial litigation, banking, sports and entertainment , real estate matters, breach of contract, technology, and a wide range of other commercial business disputes.­ 

Mr. Grant spent the first decade-plus of his practice in New York before relocating to Kansas City in 2019, where he most recently was the co-managing partner of the Kansas City office of an Am Law 100 firm.

Representative Matters

  • Represented franchisor in hearing before the American Arbitration Association (AAA) concerning claims arising from acquisition of franchise.
  • Represented numerous employers in the Kansas City area in litigation in state and federal courts and related administrative proceedings. 
  • Obtained summary judgment dismissing employment discrimination claims against Kansas City-based employer brought in the Western District of Texas, and 5th Circuit affirmance of the judgment dismissing the complaint in its entirety.
  • Successfully defended 8th Circuit appeal, resulting in affirmance of decision dismissing third-party intervenor complaint against a client for lack of standing.
  • Represented oil and gas company in hearing before the AAA concerning breach of contract claims.
  • Obtained affirmance of U.S. District Court judgment dismissing claims against national banking association after oral argument on appeal heard by 2nd Circuit.
  • Successfully defended appeal for a commercial lender in New York's Appellate Division, in a fraud action regarding a failed construction project.
  • Obtained a favorable settlement on behalf of commercial lender following borrower's default on a multimillion-dollar condominium loan.
  • Successfully defended appeal of multimillion-dollar judgment against guarantor of commercial loan resulting in affirmance of judgment.
  • Successfully defended appeal on behalf of a limited liability partnership, upholding the partnership's breach of contract claim.
  • Obtained dismissal of counterclaims in federal court alleged by commercial borrowers in connection with sale of billion-dollar loan portfolio.
