Elliott Hamilton is an Associate in the New York office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Appellate Practice Group.

Mr. Hamilton primarily drafts and argues substantive motions and appeals in the New York trial and appellate courts in general liability matters ranging from rideshare and transportation, premises liability, and medical malpractice.

Prior to joining Lewis Brisbois, Mr. Hamilton worked as an Assistant District Attorney in the Bronx for six years. While in the Investigations Division, he investigated and prosecuted complex matters ranging from firearms trafficking to child pornography from the investigatory stage to sentencing. As a member of the Appeals Bureau, he briefed over 30 cases and argued 25 cases in the New York appellate courts, including one brief and argument in the New York Court of Appeals. Mr. Hamilton also responded to post-conviction matters in the New York State trial and appellate courts related to immigration, Mental Hygiene Law, habeas corpus, coram nobis, and allegations of ineffective assistance of counsel and of judicial misconduct.

Mr. Hamilton is a member of the Committee on Appellate Courts in the New York County Lawyers Association.

Mr. Hamilton completed a JD/MPH program in three years, earning his Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School and his Master of Public Health from Tufts University Medical School in 2019. At BC, Mr. Hamilton got published in the New York University Journal of Law & Liberty; co-taught a seminar on Environmental Law & Policy to undergraduate students; was a member of the National Mock Trial Team; and graduated as a Public Interest Designation Fellow. At Tufts, Mr. Hamilton was inducted into the Honos Civicus Society. He graduated from Pitzer College, a member of the Claremont College Consortium, in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a Minor in Politics.
