James Horne was born in Osaka, Japan to a U.S. Army Medical Technician Father and a Japanese Registered Nurse Mother. He grew up in Parkland, Washington (south of Tacoma); has a younger brother and sister; is married (Haidee Bristol-Horne) with two children, Rebekah Horne and Spenser Horne, and resides in Sammamish, Washington. He graduated from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, with a B.A. in English; graduated from Willamette University College of Law in Salem, Oregon, with a J.D. degree, Clerked at the Washington Supreme Court for two years, and has practice law in the greater Seattle and Portland, Oregon areas since 1981.

Representative Matters
James Horne has extensive federal and state trial and appellate experience involving a wide range of civil litigation matters throughout the Western United States. He has served as trial counsel in Product Liability claims involving various products, prescription medications, and medical devices; Asbestos Defense; Urea Formaldehyde; Phentermine of the “Fen-Phen” diet drug combination; Bone (Pedicle) Screws; the food supplements Goldenseal and Echinacea; football helmets; wall-mounted heaters; and other electrical equipment and appliances. He also has considerable experience with building and construction defect claims on behalf of contractors, building owners and occupants (condominiums, apartment buildings, hotels, parking and other facilities in the hospitality industry) as well as fire loss and property damage claims, including business interruption, loss of use, and loss of access claims.
