Carmela Jackson is a partner in the Miami office of Lewis Brisbois. Carmela is a member of the General Liability Practice, the Collegiate & Professional Sports Law Practice, and the Entertainment, Media & Sports Practice.

Carmela’s practice focuses on complex, high-exposure litigation, and transactional matters. Carmela has spent her legal career zealously representing the interests of institutional clients in a variety of practice areas, including premises liability, negligent security, personal injury, professional liability, commercial litigation, real estate, condominium associations, real property damage, and subrogation. Carmela has fervently defended professionals, including attorneys, directors and officers, brokers, contractors, and fiduciaries in tort and contract actions. Additionally, Carmela provides counsel to athletes and entertainers in matters relating to entertainment contracts, investment contracts, partnership agreements, real estate development, brand licensing, and dispute resolution. Carmela also has extensive experience representing financial institutions in secured and unsecured loan defaults, real property matters, commercial and consumer collections, and post-judgment execution.

Carmela is a native of Lewisburg, West Virginia. She graduated from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree. Carmela obtained her Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University School of Law in Durham, North Carolina. While in law school, Carmela also studied international taxation at Duke University School of Law.
