William Keefer is an associate attorney in the Chicago office of Lewis Brisbois where he focuses on general liability litigation. He represents Fortune 500 companies as well as other businesses, their insurers, and third-party administrators in all phases of litigation, from pre-suit investigation and claims analysis through trial. His strategic defense work and attention to detail have resulted in numerous early dismissals for his clients through dispositive motion practice and favorable settlements that avoid protracted litigation.

Before joining Lewis Brisbois, Mr. Keefer practiced at a well-known regional insurance defense firm where he represented high-profile clients in both state and federal court in multi-million-dollar litigation across the country. He also worked with the Illinois Office of the Attorney General, where he helped to secure dismissals on motions for summary judgment and motions to dismiss. While a student at UConn Law, he clerked for the University’s Office of the General Counsel at both the Storrs Campus and at the Health Center, and interned for the intellectual property wing of a global corporation.

Mr. Keefer is licensed to practice law in Illinois, and in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
