Lena D. Giangrosso is a Partner in the New Orleans office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the General Liability , Appellate, Workers Compensation, and Medical Malpractice Sections. She is barred in both Louisiana and Texas.
Lena has more than 15 years’ experience handling all aspects of litigation in a broad range of areas including general liability, maritime, workers compensation, medical malpractice, transportation, construction, and property damage cases in state and federal courts at both the trial and appellate levels. She has argued before the Louisiana State Appellate Courts in the First, Fourth, and Fifth Circuits, has argued before the Louisiana Supreme Court, and has drafted Writs of Certiorari to the United States Supreme Court.
Lena’s practice consists of cases representing insurance companies, individuals, trucking companies, and retail establishments of all sizes and spans claims ranging from minor slip and falls to allegations of major permanent injury, including spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries. Her litigation style is based upon the client’s goals and the claims brought and is aimed at giving our clients a well-rounded defense in the most efficient way possible. Whether preparing for mediation or trial, her goals are to ensure that our clients have all information necessary to make informed choices and to use all available tools to navigate the best possible outcomes.
She is a graduate of Tulane University School of Law where she was Senior Articles Editor of the Tulane Environmental Law Journal and clerked for Professor Oliver Houck, aiding his research in Environmental Law. After law school, Lena went to work at a boutique law firm that permitted her to jump right in and gain valuable motion and trial experience at a young professional age. She has tried both bench and jury trials in the State, taking Workers Compensation, General Liability, and Maritime/Jones Act cases to trial and through appeal.
Lena is also a Hearing Committee Chair for the Louisiana Disciplinary Board and has spent the last five years as an adjunct professor of Trial Advocacy at her alma mater, Tulane University. In her spare time, she cooks for the local community fridges, gardens, and begins home renovations.
