Luke S. Shemeth is an experienced attorney in the New York and Hartford offices of Lewis Brisbois. He is an experienced litigator who handles complex matters involving general liability, commercial litigation, insurance coverage, and products liability, as well as representing large companies and municipalities in regards to construction, premises and transportation matters. 

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Shemeth was Of Counsel for one of the nation's oldest law firms, where he handled all aspects of a highly expansive caseload from inception to trial. A large part of his practice focused on products liability and commercial litigation, as well as representing Fortune 500 companies in employment and transportation matters. 

Mr. Shemeth started his career as a special assistant corporation counsel for New York City, where he appeared in court on an almost daily basis. His advocacy included comprehensive motion practice, pretrial conferences and hearings, and witness and trial preparation. Many of Mr. Shemeth’s cases were tried to verdict.

In addition to his legal internships, Mr. Shemeth has volunteered for a variety of international organizations which focus on urban and rural communities, including an organization providing educational services in Cambodia as well as non-profit organizations developing agricultural and sustainable business projects throughout Central America. Additionally, he was a legal researcher for the United Nations in New York City, as well as partnered with the International Justice Mission in Manila, Philippines working on preserving human rights.
