Alexander Slizewski is an associate in the Newark office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Medical Malpractice and Healthcare Practices.
Alexander Michael Slizewski, Esq. is a graduate from Rutgers Law School, Class of 2024. After passing the July 2024 bar exam, he was sworn into the New Jersey Bar in October of the same year. He has since been admitted to practice law in the New York Bar, Pennsylvania Bar, and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
Prior to joining Lewis Brisbois, Alexander served as a judicial law clerk to the Hon. Stephan C. Hansbury in the Civil Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Morris County. As a judicial law clerk, Alexander drafted Statements of Reasons and conducted legal research for ongoing matters. He also assisted in tenant-landlord mediations, and scheduled hearings before the court.
During law school, he worked in the Rutgers Community and Transactional Lawyering Clinic during his 3L, where he assisted in matters involving contract review and guardianship petitions. He was also a law clerk for a boutique firm during his second summer and throughout his 2L and 3L years, where he assisted in commercial, tort, property, and employment litigation, data privacy regulatory compliance, and transactional work involving contract review.
He also interned with the in-house counsel of a pharmaceutical and life sciences company during his first summer of law school, where he assisted in data privacy and cybersecurity compliance, and transactional work involving vendor contracts. Lastly, Alexander worked at Essex County Legal Services during the second semester of his 1L year, where he assisted in tenant-landlord disputes.
In addition to holding a CIPP/US certification, Alexander is an alumnus of the Rutgers Computer and Technology Law Journal (RCTLJ). Alexander's note on data privacy law, titled "Can I Copy Your Homework? Where the Newly Drafted New Jersey Data Privacy Bill Should Borrow From," was selected for publication in volume 50 of the RCTLJ. The publication offers recommendations for drafting New Jesey's emerging data privacy legislation and can also be found on LexisNexis and Westlaw.
Alexander was also the President of the Association of Latin American Law Students (ALALS) during his 2L year of law school and is an alumnus of the Minority Student Program (MSP). He is also active within the New Jersey State Bar Association (NJSBA), the Woman’s Bar Association of the State of New York (WBASNY), and the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA).
