Thomas D. Vu is a partner in the New York office with a practice concentration in general liability defense and the New York Labor Law. As an experienced practitioner inside the courtroom and negotiating on behalf of his clients, Thomas has a proven track record of achieving successful results in a manner that prioritizes each client's particularized objectives. Ultimately, clients seek out Thomas for his attention to their specific goals and the ability to achieve results in a pragmatic and efficient manner. Additionally, Thomas has extensive experience with excess layer insurance claims, including serving as monitoring counsel on high-exposure litigation and thereafter handling matters for mediations and trial preparation.

In the area of New York Labor Law defense, Thomas has successfully handled all aspects of litigation for such clients as State and City municipal entities, property owners, general contractors, subcontractors, business improvement districts, property management companies, and condominium and co-op associations. He has successfully drafted and argued winning motions and briefs in all boroughs of New York City, along with Nassau and Suffolk counties, and has favorably and consistently resolved significant exposure claims for his clients.

Through motion and appellate practice, Thomas has obtained outright dismissal of actions under New York Labor Law sections 240(1), 241(6) and 200 for various clients including design-build entities of New York State infrastructure projects, commercial property owners, and general contractors for large-scale projects including construction and modernization of sports stadiums and arenas. 

Additional areas where Thomas has provided exceptional service for his clients include premises and building security, transportation, and defamation claims against corporate entities and their officers and employees.
