Alan Rupe Named Executive of the Year by Wichita Business Journal

Wichita, Kan. (October 21, 2024) – Wichita and Kansas City Managing Partner Alan L. Rupe has been named an Executive of the Year by the Wichita Business Journal (WBJ). The publication's 2024 Executives of the Year list recognizes "Wichita leaders who have been accomplishing great things and taking their companies to new levels."

In connection with his profile in WBJ, Mr. Rupe provided his thoughts on a number of topics, including how to be a successful company leader. He told the publication, “Listen actively to clients, coworkers, and competitors. Stay focused and adaptable, maintaining a healthy fear of failure. Be responsive and set high standards, holding yourself and others accountable. Be available at all times. Communicate your vision clearly to everyone. Show empathy, tenacity and resilience, while keeping a sense of humor.” In addition, Mr. Rupe discussed the advice he would give to individuals seeking to become executive leaders. He explained, “Keep your clients happy. Grow the work. Tackle big problems step by step. . . . Never give up. Show up.” Mr. Rupe also told WBJ that since 1978, he has jumped rope six days a week, for 25 minutes each day, noting that the activity, “keeps me on my toes.”

Mr. Rupe serves as vice-chair of Lewis Brisbois’ Labor & Employment Practice. He is an experienced trial lawyer who is consistently recognized for excellence by local, state, national, and international rankings organizations. Mr. Rupe’s practice includes every area of employment law, including day-to-day counseling, training, administrative agency proceedings, civil litigation, and trials.
