Brian Slome Named to the Daily Journal’s List of Top Professional Responsibility Lawyers for 2025

San Diego/San Francisco, Calif. (March 5, 2025) - San Diego and San Francisco Partner Brian Slome has been named one of the Daily Journal’s Top Professional Responsibility Lawyers for 2025.

The publication’s annual Top Professional Responsibility Lawyers list honors the top-performing attorneys in the areas of legal malpractice and ethics. The Daily Journal’s profile of Mr. Slome, who serves as a Vice Chair of Lewis Brisbois’ Professional Liability Practice, details his career path over the past two decades. Inspired by a family full of legal professionals, Mr. Slome has been practicing law since 2005.

He told the Daily Journal that he has been honored to represent several members of the state bar.

"I was fortunate to represent a few state bar clients who trusted me with their practices," Mr. Slome said. "Defending these clients was very meaningful. In two very specific cases, my clients stood up for what was right and had to bear the consequences because the state bar felt that - notwithstanding their best intentions and efforts - my clients had not met the technical rules of professional conduct. Winning these matters, and developing relationships with my clients as a result, was significant and taught me a lesson about courage and perseverance."

Mr. Slome went on to say that legal practice “involves challenges when it comes to deadlines, time management, and learning new, complex, and difficult legal principles.”

“Learning to deal with bureaucracy and trusting the process is a hard lesson, particularly when things don't seem to be going your way,” he said. “And, of course, there are always challenges with opposing counsel, who are often blinded by their feeling that they have right on their side."

In addition to serving as vice chair of the Professional Liability Practice, Mr. Slome is also co-chair of the firm's Real Estate Agents & Brokers E&O Practice. Mr. Slome focuses his practice on the defense of attorneys and other professionals, including insurance agents and brokers, architects and engineers, real estate agents and inspectors. He also defends attorneys in disciplinary proceedings.
