Daniel Feldman Speaks with Law360 About Move to Lewis Brisbois

New York, N.Y./Newark, N.J. (October 13, 2022) - New York and Newark Partner Daniel Feldman recently spoke with Law360 for an article titled, “Lewis Brisbois Picks Up Jet Sale, Exec Comp Expert,” about his move to the firm, as well as trends in the aviation and employee benefits arenas. As the article describes, Mr. Feldman joined Lewis Brisbois' Business Aviation and Executive Compensation & Employee Benefits Practices last month.

Mr. Feldman told Law360 that he decided to join Lewis Brisbois from EY to be part of a nationwide, full-service law firm and to work alongside talented attorneys. “Few law firms offer the level of expertise in such a broad group of competencies that Lewis Brisbois provides to clients," he noted.

In discussing his practice, Mr. Feldman explained that he will focus primarily on jet purchases and sales, executive compensation issues, mergers and acquisitions, and equity overhauls. He also described recent trends in these areas, stating that corporations are increasingly purchasing private jets to meet the travel needs of executives, and noting the "enormous" amount of activity in the private jet space.

Moreover, within the employee benefits arena, Mr. Feldman told Law360 that the pandemic has shaped certain trends, including the offering of unlimited vacation days by many organizations in the midst of the “Great Resignation.” Mr. Feldman advised that companies should be mindful about instituting this type of policy, particularly if they have an obligation to pay out accrued, unused vacation time. He further recommended that organizations should be transparent with employees about how these policies work.

Mr. Feldman focuses his practice on business aviation structuring and tax planning for large international corporations, private equity funds, high net-worth individuals, and family offices. With extensive experience navigating complex tax considerations, he also advises on golden parachute rules and mitigation strategies, non-qualified deferred compensation, taxation of foreign pension plans, and fringe benefits.
