Jacob Sawyer to Speak on Benzene Litigation at Toxic Torts & Environmental Law Seminar

Atlanta, Ga. (March 24, 2025) – Chicago Partner Jacob Sawyer will speak on defending claims of benzene exposure at the 2025 Toxic Torts and Environmental Law Seminar, hosted by DRI in Atlanta on March 27 at 3:00 p.m. ET.

In this 60-minute informative session, Mr. Sawyer and his co-panelist Dr. Julia Goodman (Gradient) will explore strategies for analyzing and defending claims of benzene exposure from products that do not contain benzene as a constituent. The discussion will cover recent filings where plaintiffs argue that trace benzene in petroleum-based products justifies exposure claims, even when benzene is not part of the product formula. CLE credits are available.

Mr. Sawyer is a member of the Toxic Tort, Environmental Litigation, and Talc Litigation Practices. He focuses on defending manufacturers, premises owners, suppliers, and others in toxic tort and environmental litigation, from the initial pleading stage through verdict at trial, in the state and federal courts of Illinois and Missouri.
