Jane Luxton, William Walsh Provide 2020 Outlook on PFAS Litigation for Washington Legal Foundation

Washington, D.C. (February 3, 2020) - Washington, D.C. Partners Jane C. Luxton and William J. Walsh recently published an article on the Washington Legal Foundation's website titled "The 2020 Outlook for 'PFAS' Chemical Litigation: An Expanding Target Zone."

The article gives a concise history of the litigation involving per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS), from the class actions suits brought against DuPont and 3M in the early 2000s, to the recent cases involving fire-fighting chemicals used by the military at sites across the country. Ms. Luxton and Mr. Walsh then provide an assessment of what's to come, predicting more litigation and higher settlements in such PFAS cases.

Ms. Luxton is co-chair of Lewis Brisbois' Government Investigations & White Collar Defense Practice, co-chair of its Government Relations Group Leadership, and co-chair of its Environmental and Administrative Law Practice. She has extensive experience in environmental as well as other federal regulatory, policy, and litigation matters.

Mr. Walsh is member of the firm's Environmental & Administrative Law Practice. He principally focuses his practice in the areas of government policy advocacy, regulatory compliance and counseling, and environmental litigation.
