Jason Berger Speaks With Billboard for Article on Music Industry Attorneys' Heavy Workloads
Philadelphia, Pa. (July 31, 2023) - PhiladelphiaPartner Jason Berger recently spoke with Billboard for an article titled, “Music Lawyers Have a Problem: Too Many Clients, Too Many Deals & Too Much Paperwork,” which discusses the issue of overextended attorneys in the music industry.
As the article describes, lawyers play a significant role in the music industry, although they typically operate behind the scenes. In addition, the article explains that in some cases, attorneys stretch themselves too thin in their representation of music industry clients. On this subject, Mr. Berger told Billboard, “Some lawyers abuse that position because of the money that can be made when you’re in such a unique space.” The article goes on to offer the varying perspectives of music industry attorneys and to address reasons behind their heavy caseloads.
