Jeffrey Thayer to Lead BASF Intellectual Property Symposium
San Francisco, Calif. (October 1, 2024) – San Francisco Partner Jeffrey Thayer, who serves as Section Chair for the Bar Association of San Francisco's (BASF) IP/Internet Law Section, will preside over the organization's upcoming IP Symposium on October 10.
Mr. Thayer will provide an introduction to a 60-minute panel, titled “Why ‘Generative AI is Doomed,’” with Keynote Speaker Professor Eric Goldman of the High Tech Law Institute and Santa Clara University School of Law. This panel will present a contrarian perspective on AI regulation, arguing that excessive legal restrictions could hinder generative AI's progress and potentially align with agendas aimed at halting its development.
