Kerri Keller Speaks with Law360 About Recent Move to Lewis Brisbois
Akron, Ohio (April 18, 2023) – Akron Partner Kerri Keller recently spoke with Law360's Employment Authority about joining Lewis Brisbois’ Akron office in the firm’s Labor & Employment and Complex Business & Commercial Litigation Practices.
In the article, titled “Lewis Brisbois Recruits Employment Litigator in Ohio,” Ms. Keller – who has more than two decades of experience assisting businesses and public entities with high-stakes employment and business disputes – told Law360 that the increase in remote working has expanded her clients' needs into other states, making Lewis Brisbois' national network an appealing asset. She explained, "I'm able to draw on other firm employees now. . . who have experience in those states."
The article goes on to mention her reputation as a "jack-of-all-trades employment issue litigator," but Ms. Keller told the publication that she "tends to gravitate toward bias cases brought under Title VII" as a result of her experience after law school clerking for an Akron district judge and working on federal civil rights law and discrimination cases. "When I went into private practice, I had somewhat of a foundation in those employment laws" she said, making it "a natural transition."
Ms. Keller also shared the legal trends she's keeping an eye on, including how artificial intelligence will impact discrimination disputes as employers increasingly rely on the technology, and a recent National Labor Relations Board ruling involving a Michigan hospital that represents a tightening of standards for employers around confidentiality and non-disparagement clauses in severance agreements.
