Nathan Sheffield Serves as Counsel for New Musical ‘Pop Off, Michelangelo!’

New York, N.Y. (June 3, 2025) - New York Partner Nathan Sheffield served as production counsel for the new musical, Pop Off, Michelangelo!, which opened in London last week at Underbelly Boulevard Soho.

Pop Off, Michelangelo! is a high-camp musical comedy that reimagines the rivalry between Renaissance icons Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci, blending absurd historical parody with an original electropop score. The show follows the two childhood friends as they attempt to out-paint each other, and earn divine forgiveness, amid a wave of religious persecution in 16th-century Italy. Critics have praised the production with Broadway World calling it “spectacularly camp and full of heart,” and The Guardian acclaiming the score “perfectly winning” and filled with “flamboyant rudeness and lyrical wit.” Starring RuPaul’s Drag Race UK finalist Michael Marouli as the Pope, the musical runs in London through July 13, 2025.
