Lewis Brisbois Boosts Commercial Litigation, Employment Capabilities in Midwest With Hire of Experienced Litigation Team
Kansas City, Mo. (June 4, 2025) - Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome Cameron Grant and Melika Harris to its Kansas City office, where Mr. Grant will serve as the office’s managing partner. Mr. Grant and Ms. Harris, who have three decades of experience between them, join the firm’s Complex Business & Commercial Litigation and Labor & Employment Practices as a partner and associate, respectively, from the Kansas City office of an Am Law 100 firm.
Mr. Grant has extensive experience litigating commercial matters in state and federal trial and appellate courts, as well as arbitral forums. Mr. Grant represents clients in all aspects of commercial litigation. He further specializes in handling commercial, employment and professional liability claims. Mr. Grant, who has more than 18 years of legal experience, practiced with large national and international firms in New York City, most recently Hogan Lovells, for more than a decade before relocating with his family to Kansas City in 2019. He earned his law degree from New York University School of Law and his undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from Southern Illinois University. Mr. Grant is admitted to practice in state and federal courts in Kansas, Missouri, and New York, as well as in the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Second, Fifth, and Eighth Circuits and before the U.S. Supreme Court.
Ms. Harris is an experienced litigator who handles matters through all phases of litigation in both state and federal courts. With more than 10 years of experience in private practice, she currently focuses her practice on professional liability, employment, and commercial litigation. Ms. Harris earned her law degree from University of Missouri’s Kansas City School of Law and her undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri, Columbia. She is admitted to practice in state and federal courts in Missouri as well as in Illinois and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
In discussing his decision to join Lewis Brisbois, Mr. Grant explained that the cohesive and collaborative environment at the firm appealed to him. “I envision working for the overall good of the firm and helping to grow its the practices. I am happy to be part of a national firm with an established Kansas City office that will allow me to further develop our services in this market,” he described. Mr. Grant also noted that he was looking forward to stepping into the role of managing partner of the Kansas City office, stating, “Alan Rupe has done a great job building a successful operation here.
